A modern format for the web
WebP is designed to deliver good visual quality with less data than many older formats. It works for photographs and graphics, and it can retain transparency. That flexibility makes it a useful default for website assets where fast loading matters.
How to convert to WebP
- Add JPG, PNG, HEIC or other supported images.
- Select Convert to WebP to encode them locally.
- Download the results and test them in your publishing workflow.
Check your destination
Current browsers support WebP well, but some older document tools and upload forms accept only JPG or PNG. Use the format listed by the destination. If its real concern is file weight, follow conversion with an exact-size compression target.
