Why choose PNG?
PNG stores pixels without the block and ringing artifacts associated with lossy formats. It is a strong choice for screenshots, diagrams, illustrations, logos and images containing crisp text. It can also preserve transparent areas when the source decoder exposes them.
How to make a PNG
- Choose your source images.
- Select Convert to PNG.
- Preview and download each new file.
Expect a different file size
A photograph converted from JPG to PNG often becomes larger without becoming clearer; lost JPG detail cannot be restored. If your goal is a lightweight photo, choose WebP or keep JPG. PNG is most valuable when its lossless behavior suits the image.
